The Mission
The mission of every Christian church is derived from the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). We are disciples, seeking to make disciples of others in our own community and around the world. In order to fullfill the Great Commission together, we seek to, INVITE people into the Prince of Peace community, LEAD people toward a faith relationship with Jesus Christ, EQUIP people to grow through God's Word, and SEND people to make disciples of others.
Our vision

At Prince of Peace it is our vision to see God at work around us,

Our values
So how do we CHANGE LIVES, GROW FAMILIES, and REACH THE NEXT GENERATION?
Each of these is the work of God Himself. God changes our lives through His Word and by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Gospel is the life-changing message of hope and salvation for all who believe. God grows our families when we gather around His Word and teach our children. He equips us to be the families that He desires us to be. And God is the one who reaches each generation with the Good News about Jesus Christ. We can be faithful, but ultimately faith itself is a gift of God.
Prince of Peace is a community of imperfect people who gather around Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. We do this, not because we're so great, but because He is. Jesus gave Himself up for us and called us to be His church. He died on the cross for us - in our place - and He rose again from the dead, victorious over sin, death, and the devil. He has freed us and so we cling to Him. Only when we cling to Him will we see lives changing, families growing, and the Gospel going out to the next generation.
As a community we gather around Christ in the following ways:
- Worship - Worship is our first value at POP. If you aren't part of a worshipping community, we'd love to have you join us. In worship, God comes to us in Word and Sacrament, proclaiming His promise of the Gospel to us. And we respond to Him with joyful songs, prayers, and repentance.
- Discipleship - A disciple is a follower of Christ. We seek to follow Christ by reading His Word, praying, and following His example in life. This can happen individually, but it can be an even more profound and encouraging experience when it happens in groups. If you're a part of our worshipping community (and even if you worship elsewhere), we want to encourage you to get into a group where you can study the Word of God with fellow believers, pray for one another, and encourage one another to follow Christ wherever He calls.
- Family Ministry - At Prince of Peace, we believe that growing in faith should start with the family and be based in the home. After all, you spend a lot more time with your family than we do. We offer educational programs for children, youth and adults, but we also want to help equip families to grow in their faith together. Look for resources each week that will help you have "Family Faith Talks," and begin talking about God together in your homes.
- Missions - The church doesn't exist so that we can sit in pews every Sunday. It exists to continue the mission of God in the world. Our very purpose as a church is wrapped up in God's mission to seek and save the lost. That's what Jesus came to do and that's what He commissioned us to do. At Prince of Peace, we believe that God has called us to be a missional outpost in North Dallas. We believe He has called us to reach out to our own neighborhood and around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to reach out by providing help to those in need and hope to the hopeless.
